Senior Pastor

Senior Pastor, Dale Edwards, has served the Lebanon community for the past twenty years. He holds a B.A. from Berkshire College and an M. Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. While in seminary, Dale served as a student pastor in Washington and Hampstead, N.H. Dale and his wife, Laurie, have two children, Daniel and Bethany.

Pastor Edwards values the renewal of historic downtown churches and the spiritual growth and formation of individuals. Believing the church faces many challenges from the post-modern culture, Dale is committed to utilizing both old and new methods to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ.

First Baptist Boards

The Board of Diaconate is an extension of the Pastoral office concerned with the spiritual development of the Church Body. The Board of Diaconate consults with the pastor on matters pertaining to the church’s spiritual state, and will assist the pastor in his or her duties. The Board is concerned with the development of a welcoming fellowship, pastoral care, personal visits, physical support, and help as appropriate. The Diaconate provides for outreach and care to the Church Body. The Board of Diaconate develops a spiritual community with fellow deacons; being committed to prayer, spiritual growth, and spiritual knowledge.

The Board of Trustees holds in trust all property belonging to the church and takes all necessary measures for its protection, management, and upkeep. The board oversees and administers the approved budget.

The Board of Christian Education's purpose is to present Christ by teaching and sharing the whole of Scripture, that others might know and experience Christ. The Board is responsible for the educational needs and programs of the youth and adults at First Baptist Church.

The Missions Committee is responsible for promoting awareness of and participation in mission opportunities locally, nationally, and internationally, both through para-church programs and programs sponsored by American Baptist Churches. The Board seeks to increase giving of both time and resources in the aid of missions opportunities and programs. The Board is also responsible for promotion and increased awareness of ministries sponsored by American Baptist Churches including, but not necessarily limited to, associational meetings, regional and national conventions, camps and conferences, and other special events.

The Fellowship Committee is committed to providing opportunities for Christian growth through fellowship, actively engaging both young and old.
